Settling In Process

Starting preschool is a significant milestone for every child.  Some children settle in quickly, while others may take a little longer - and that’s completely normal.  

Every child is unique, and we take time to get to know each one individually, supporting them at their own pace.  We believe that comfort and trust come first, so if your child is finding it difficult to settle, we will always call you rather than leave them distressed.  

To help with the transition, we offer settling in sessions, these are short, gradual visits designed to help your child become familiar with our preschool environment, daily routines, and the team, especially their key person. 

At Tots Teachers Preschools, we provide a minimum of three settling sessions:

Session 1 – 1 hour
Session 2 – 1.5 hours
Session 3 – 2 hours

These sessions can take place at various times, and the setting manager will arrange them with you once a start date has been confirmed.

Before your child’s first settling session, we ask that you complete an ‘All About Me’ form digitally.  This helps our staff understand your child’s interests, preferences, and needs so we can make their first experiences with us as positive and comforting as possible.
